Thursday 10th December - Limericks

My eccentric biblical studies tutor - who likes to mix things up a bit in tutorials - has asked us to write a limerick for tomorrow.

Now, I don't know about you, but trying to find words that rhyme with 'theology', 'canon' and 'Räisänen' is a right pain in the arse. But, I've taken a stab at doing so anyway:

Agreement on the New Testament canon
Is as rare as the papal fanon
But do not despiar
We undergrads do care
And will scrap the whole thing you call 'canon'

The canon was somewhat arranged
By men who left each other estranged
Now our views still vary
Making us weary
To which books can and cannot be changed
