Wednesday 30th June - Witnessing history in the making

Today Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino III was inaugurated as the 15th president of the Philippines.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, all public transport was declared free for the day, and even helicopters dropped sweets from the sky.
Watching it on tv, thousands of people had gathered into the Quirino grandstand to witness something many people thought would never come to fruition.
The son of the assassinated Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino II and the much-loved people's president Cory Aquino, Noynoy had been brought up in the midst of politics from a young age.
